Realistic goal setting occurs, if you have written goals. Unless you put your goals in writing your chances of achieving them are quite small.

When your goals are written down for each day, that day becomes an event, a contest with yourself. That day becomes one step in a journey to achieve what you want from life.

So write your goals down, and give credibility to them. Tell yourself I'm excited about achieving these goals today, I am that much closer to my ultimate goals. Now realistic goals can be set and achieved with enthusiasm.

Writing your goals makes extra effort easier. You have made the important decisions of what needs to be done today. Now convert your goals into realities and continue to progress towards the completion of your plan.

If you develop the skill to set goals that are achievable and exciting, you will be rewarded with success.

Be persistent, practice this skill, anything worth doing well is worth doing badly until you can do it well.

You will be delighted with the results of your goal setting skills, you will become more organized and things will run a lot smoother.

You will be making important decisions early instead of just in time or to late. You will be able to recognize conflict and avoid it, opportunities will be apparent and easily recognizable.

You need to have a set time each week for reviewing your progress and judge if your realistic goal setting is progressing and on track for the week. The importance of this weekly meeting cannot be stressed enough.

The best way is to be held accountable by a mentor.
