We all live in a modern world, a world surrounded by so many innovations and whatnot. All this has been possible because of the intelligence of humans. Without it, nothing would have been possible. Intelligence can be for the use of skills, it can be emotional intelligence or any other similar ability. Since intelligence is a precious asset and hurting it is certainly not a good idea.

Everyone has his or her perception of things. It can be the same or different from yours. Insulting someone’s views or intelligence based on their perception is wrong. Everyone has the right to form their views and opinions and no one should be judged based on that.

Having said that, you cannot always control another person’s actions. Therefore, what is important is to not get affected or hurt by another person’s actions. You hurt your intelligence only if YOU let it hurt it. That’s brainpower! If you learn to ignore such negativity, you win the battle.

What can hurt someone’s intelligence?

  • When someone tells you that they cannot do something that will end up making you think whether you are right or wrong, it can hurt your intelligence.
  • When someone with below-average intelligence tells you that you are dumb, it will insult your intelligence.
  • If you are called irresponsible by your known people for the things you do, it will hurt your intelligence. Using harsh words in such situations can trigger the anger inside you and things can go bad.
  • The word “no” is often the cause of problems most of the time. If this word is used more often in front of you, it can make you feel insulted.
  • There is no harsh feeling in this world than failure. Failure makes you question your intelligence and hurt your emotions badly. The only option to overcome such an insult is a success.
  • When people around you define your actions as bad, it can trigger multiple emotions in you. Unless it is constructive criticism, your intelligence may feel insulted.
  • If you are told that people around you feel ashamed because of you, it can cause massive disappointment and feelings of hurt. Then you will constantly question the things you do, decisions you take, etc.
  • When your work is judged as incompetent and you are told to work harder it hurts your intelligence directly. It is an indirect taunt that you are incapable of doing a job.

The above mentioned are some of the reasons that can hurt your emotions and insult your intelligence. The best way to overcome such insults is focussing hard on your work and avoiding the noise around you. The opinions of others should not dishearten and discourage you. In this world, success is the answer to most of the problems. With constant hard work and determination, you can reach your goals and shut down all the people who have hurt you before.
