The practice of undergoing hypnosis as a tool for helping people to quit their destructive smoking habit has fairly rapidly gained popularity - alongside NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and has proved, for most of those who have tried it, a successful method for ensuring they kick the habit permanently.
It's actually a really very fine line that defines the difference between NLP and hypnosis and both methods are very often interchanged or used simultaneously for varying programs.
Without getting too technical, the basics of the idea that NLP and/or hypnosis can prevent you smoking is that it's a habit, meaning that something in our minds is giving us the craving for nicotine and hence the need to smoke.
NLP and hypnosis are both believed to act as an influence over the sub-conscious and are able to cease the cravings which of course would only be seen as exceptionally advantageous for any smoker desperate to quit.
Just hypnosis itself has been been making great popularity gains in many areas, including stress management, weight-loss and various other areas of psychotherapy and is one of the latest methods employed to assist people quit their killer smoking habit.
This of course leads many to ask - does it actually work?
As with anything alien or newly arrived, there are those who would doubt, there are always, skeptics and plain old naysayers - will hypnosis sincerely work or is it just another scam or fad that unprincipled practitioners use for economic gain?
There has to date been many case studies that have exposed very positive results after NLP or hypnosis has been employed as a means for altering habits, including smoking. Numerous people have claimed that the treatment helps them to completely and effectively quit smoking permanently.
Strangely, whilst the psychotherapy mainstream are still not wholly acknowledging either NLP or hypnosis as legitimate treatments for quitting smoking, the facts are that the results from using either of theses as a treatment or part of a program for stopping smoking are very clear-cut - they are effective methods and are proving constantly harder to ignore.
It may be that it's a just a mind thing or a hard and fast faith that it's going to work which is enough to help particular types of people to quit smoking - so why should we care about that? If there are masses of people that have experienced life and health changing results, then surely it's a decent thing and it's certainly sufficient proof for me.
In summary; if you're desperate to stop smoking and haven't been able to find the method that easily helps you, then maybe this is exactly what you need and even though you're bound to find it a little tough at first, being able to kick the habit is much easier than you think - YOU ONLY HAVE TO WANT TO!
Quitting smoking naturally, speedily, and permanently isn't and has never been about overly complicated systems and/or poisonous pills and patches - it's all about simplicity, a little bit of will-power and some genuine tried and tested tobacco-quitting knowledge.
