A bad habit can be termed as a recurring action that you perform to get instant satisfaction but it often leads to problems in the long term.

A bad habit is formed mostly by two things; stress and boredom. Most of the time people deal with stress and boredom by engaging in a habit that is not good for them.

There are several ways through which you can break a bad habit. Some of the common ways include committing to a goal, making a plan, being patient, starting with smaller targets, rewarding yourself, etc.

To develop a new habit you must set realistic goals, develop a routine, be kind to yourself, simplify your life, etc. You can also consult a counselor to guide you on the path of developing a new habit.
