Prayer is essential...needed by many people and is a source of great faith.
Sometimes prayer though can be harmful. Hear me out, I am not being blasphemous. I am just saying that sometimes we can pray for the wrong thing. As in praying for the winning lottery numbers or that a rich uncle dies and leaves us millions. Or it can look something like this.
You are in line at your neighborhood donut shop and a newbie network marketer ambushes you with an opening line of "good morning" before launching into a two, five or ten minute spiel about his or her "opportunity." They have no idea if you're interested or not, but it doesn't matter...you have a pulse so you're a potential recruit.
You barely listen...your eyes glaze over and all the while they don't seem to notice.
This new network marketer does this several times a day, "praying" that they can and will find someone open to listen to what they have to say. Someone that is looking for a chance to make money from home or make thousands of dollars part-time. This wild, random buckshot approach is taken by many people. It's what they're taught by their up-line after all. They're told to talk to as many people as possible and they will achieve their goals.
Yet another newbie network marketer, one who has committed his script to memory and is making 50 cold calls a day, is also "praying" that he or she can make six figures a year, with their random efforts. They call re-sold internet leads and find angry people who didn't expect a phone call or others who have no idea what the "newbie" is talking about. Others, simply hang up on them.
This is the exact opposite of "working smarter, not harder" don't you think?
Now if you find yourself in any of these scenarios, you don't have to hope and "pray" that you strike it rich with network marketing. You can instead, take a more strategic and proactive way to be a huge success in your opportunity. You can talk to people who have sought you out. You can field phone calls and e-mails from people that will contact you about what it is you have to offer. People who are interested in what you have to say because they have already been presold on the topic.
