Antioxidants for Anti-Aging

As we age cell division, the replacement of damaged cell reduces. This process is caused by free radicals that are produced within our bodies. Antioxidants are the natural fighters for the free radicals which are known to cause cellular destruction. This is responsible for the wrinkling of the skin and hence the ageing relation. It is for this reason that antioxidants are good for the anti-ageing phenomena. Antioxidants are good for anti-ageing because they have a high anti-inflammatory effect, which results in the anti-ageing effect. It is wise to seek foodstuff that contains antioxidants and cosmetics that have the same for the proper and effective anti-ageing process.

There are many types of foodstuff that contain antioxidants which can help in the anti-ageing process. It is therefore recommended to take diets with a high content of antioxidants as they help in the anti-ageing process, some of the food with antioxidants are.

Vegetables and beans

Beans which are dried are said to contain high levels of antioxidants which will boost the anti-ageing process. Types of beans such as pinto, kidney or azuki are good examples. The vegetables that contain a high level of antioxidants are cabbages, spinach, onions, broccoli, potatoes or sweet potatoes. It is advisable not to overcook the vegetables as this reduces the content of antioxidants which are responsible for anti-ageing.

Berries and fruits

Berries such as strawberries, blackberries or raspberries are very rich in antioxidants which will help in the anti-ageing process. Though the fresh berries are more nutritious and delicious, the level of oxidants in the berries can be found in form of juice in food stores. Fruits such as pineapple, apples, avocados or plums also have antioxidants, it is always recommended to take apples without peeling them off.

Herbs and beverages

Anti-ageing can also be achieved by the consumption of some beverage and herbs which has a high level of antioxidants. Green tea, coffee or red wines are a few examples. This drinks should not be taken alone they should act as supplements to the diet that contain a high level of antioxidants. Also, herb such as cinnamon, ginger or cloves is also said to contain a high level of antioxidants.

Chocolates and nuts

Dark chocolate has a high content of antioxidants, unlike the milk chocolate which has a level of fat thus not recommended. When you consume the dark chocolate you get more antioxidants, as well as pleasure and this due to the antioxidants, allows the anti-ageing process. Nuts such as pecans, walnuts, pistachio nuts have a high level of antioxidants for anti-ageing.

Grains

The most grain that has a high content of antioxidant is oats. Consider taking whole oatmeal for breakfast as this will not deter anti-ageing, cause of the antioxidants in it.

Salmon

Another anti-ageing foodstuff is salmon due to its high content of antioxidants. Studies have shown that farm salmon has low levels of antioxidants compared to wild salmon. The high content of antioxidant in wild salmon is due to it consuming a form of microalgae that scientist believes to contain a high level of antioxidants.
